Beef Au Jus Gravy Powder

This Beef Au Jus Gravy Powder is the shortcut you’ll keep in the pantry. Mix it once, store it in a jar, and whenever you need a fast au jus for French dip sandwiches, roast beef, or mashed potatoes—just whisk it into hot water and simmer until smooth.

Ingredients

4 tablespoons beef bouillon powder


2 tablespoons cornstarch


2 teaspoons onion powder


2 teaspoons dried parsley


1/2 teaspoon garlic powder


1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

To make the dry mix:

  1. Add beef bouillon powder, cornstarch, onion powder, dried parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper to a bowl.

  2. Whisk until completely combined.

  3. Store in an airtight jar or container.

To make au jus (when ready to use):

  1. Whisk 2 tablespoons of the mix into 2 cups hot water in a small saucepan.

  2. Bring to a gentle simmer, whisking, and cook 2–3 minutes until smooth and slightly thickened.

  3. Add a splash more water to thin, or simmer 1–2 minutes longer to thicken.
