Quick and Easy Bourbon Chicken

This Quick and Easy Bourbon Chicken is a weeknight staple with big flavor and simple pantry ingredients. Despite the name, this version doesn’t use bourbon—just a rich sweet-and-savory sauce made with hoisin, soy sauce, brown sugar, and warm spices. Serve it over rice or freeze it for a future dinner.
Ingredients
½ cup hoisin sauce½ cup soy sauce1 teaspoon ground ginger⅔ cup brown sugar2 teaspoons garlic powder2 teaspoons onion powder½ teaspoon ground black pepper3 tablespoons butter3 lb chicken breast, chopped into bite-sized pieces
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, ground ginger, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Set aside.
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add chopped chicken and cook until no longer pink and cooked through.
Pour the sauce over the chicken and stir to coat.
Cook 3–4 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens and clings to the chicken.
Serve immediately, or cool completely and freeze for later.
