Crenshaw is a large, sweet melon with salmon-pink flesh. The rough, dark-green skin turns yellow at maturity, and the fruit usually weighs more than 5 pounds.

This heirloom variety matures in about 110 days and needs a long, warm season. Handle the mature fruit carefully, particularly when transporting it.
