Leutschauer is a paprika pepper for drying, smoking, or grinding into a spicy powder. The bright red fruit has smooth, shiny skin, a crisp texture, and sweet flavor and aroma.

Compact, productive plants grow over 2 feet tall in a garden or container. The conical pods reach 2–4 inches long and taper to a point.

The variety is named for Leutschau, Slovakia, and was brought to Matrafured, Hungary, in the 1800s. It has remained a Hungarian market pepper and is harder to find in the United States.
